MESA Advisors Stephanie Potter and Mick Huiet organized a special GLOBE Project training for teachers at Eagle Crest. GLOBE will be used in conjunction with their MESA Garden Project and to enhance the District's elementary science Earth Science FOSS unit. Deanna TeBockhorst, CloudSat Education Network, and Gary Randoph, Educational Designer The GLOBE Program, expertly facilitated the training.
GLOBE is an inquiry-based, hands-on, environmental science and education program that is school-based and is in 110 countries world-wide. Currently more than 20,000 schools that are involved worldwide in GLOBE have reported over 20 million data observations. Observations and data collected is used by students to conduct locally relevant investigations about the earth's climate as well as by scientists to support their own research while mentoring to GLOBE students.
