Eagle Crest MESA Garden Leadership Team Wins 3rd Place in St. Vrain Valley School District Technology Fair!

Podcasts and blogs were exhibited and enthusiastically explained by Emma Hall and Theo Ditillo at the St. Vrain Valley School District Technology Fair, held February 6, 2010. Explained so well, in fact, that the Eagle Crest MESA Garden Projects won 3rd place at the fair, earning $100 for our garden.

Fourth graders from the Eagle Crest MESA Garden Leadership Team have been reporting on the garden, documenting our progress through organized step-by-step accounts, interviewing kids, and photographing garden events – all with the goal of producing an informative and creative podcast. Students have written scripts and recorded their voices through Garage Band. Our student-designed garden logo, along with photos showing our progress, have been added. Final editing and revising have been completed with the help of Mrs. Keener, and Mrs. Potter and Mr. Huiet have posted these podcasts to our MESA garden website and blog.

Our MESA Garden blog has been a terrific forum in which students and community members can share ideas, progress on the garden, meeting dates, fundraising activities, and any other garden “thoughts”. Through the blog, students are writing about a topic that is relevant and important to them – our very own garden!
