Casa de la Esperanza/MESA Team Wins Special Trophy at the Western Regional FIRST Robotics Competition!

After more than 100 hours of intensive work designing and building a robot for the FIRST Robotics Competition, the Casa MESA FIRST Robotics team was awarded a special trophy: "FIRST Robotics Competition Highest Rookie Seed Award" for points scored during the competition in January, 2007.

The Casa/MESA team is 1st St. Vrain MESA program to enter a FIRST Robotics Competition. They were supported by an incredible group of mentors including Maria Madera (IBM), Mark Dotterweich (Lockheed Martin), Paul Henderschott and Lyle Ruppert (Ball Aerospace and Technologies), Allyson Vahling, Mamadou Konate, David Ramirez from CU's Multicultural Engineering Program, and Michael Lozano and Carlota Loya Hernández from Casa de la Esperanza.

The Casa/MESA team will participate in the FIRST Robotics Competition again this year and invites any interested St. Vrain MESA high school students to join their FIRST team.
